I was lucky enough to go to the Southwest Regional Yoga Championships today. It was a great display of yoga talent from a wide range of men and women of all ages; youth, seniors, and, well, the rest of us. Yoga competitions get a bad rap by those that don’t understand the competition part is just a small part. Like yoga, the journey is more important than the destination. The continual practice and focus day after day to prepare changes the body and mind. A persons practice can completely change due to the process, and has little do to with the outcome of the championships.
Only a few will advance to Nationals and only 1 in each category will win in the end but everyone wins in self discovery and self awareness.

I have been thinking about mala beads and wanting one that had great meaning. I had found a few places online but none really seemed to speak to me.
